Author: A while back we talked about things not to do when traveling in Japan . And among them, we mentioned it is recommended that you do not expect to confront the country’s ancient traditions still exist normally as if their streets . Find traces of the Japan of old, is a task that requires dedication, especially to find places that have not changed much.
Experience is recommended for example, find somewhere with old roads traveled for centuries to link major cities. Among them, the way Nakasend? (Road through the mountains) is one of the five routes of Edo period connecting the present city of Tokyo to Kyoto by the interior.
The distance of the route total Nakasend? is 534 km, and the road was used by many celebrities of Japanese culture. The route was valued at the beginning ofEdo period , when the route was designated as the official use of rulers and people in general, after a plan to modernize the road system of communications.
