Berlin – the art of chocolate in Fassbender & Rausch on Gendarmenmarkt
If you like chocolates, an appointment with one of the most famous stores in the world you have on your trip to Berlin.
This is Fassbender & Rausch, a store of chocolates whose origins go back to the year 1863 and that you find in the southern part of the central square of Gendarmenmarkt, famous for two twin Cathedral buildings and for hosting one of the most popular Christmas markets in Berlin.
The store of chocolates you can currently visit is the result of the Union of two family businesses who were born in the second half of the 19th century, which specialised in the development of the most delicious chocolates, truffles and pralines in 1999.
Already from the outside you called attention to store chocolates Fassbender & Rausch, because in their shop Windows you can see striking models of the most famous monuments of Berlin made in chocolate.
So, will surprise you the model of the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. But you can also see a scale model of the Titanic chocolate, or chocolate of an angel and a bear sculptures.
On the ground floor is the store, where you find an incredible array of chocolate specialties, and on the top floor have a lounge where you can taste them, which is also used as a restaurant.
