Vacation Basics
Clothing
The best advice I can give anyone coming to the island
travel light.
Between November and April, you probably need a jersey and pants of fine fabric for the evenings, and if there is a cloudy day, and, of course, your bathing suit. But at any other time of year you only need to type amiseta clothes or shorts because it’s quite warm!.
The clothes are quite informal here, so do not worry too much about that.
You’re on vacation, relax!
Electricity
The voltage in Fuerteventura is the same as in the rest of Spain, or 220V AC, 50Hz.
Current Water
It is perfectly safe for brushing your teeth or for boiling coffee or tea, but is slightly salty if you drink straight from the tap. Better to buy bottled water in 5-liter bottles, easy to get in any supermarket in the city.
The ice used in bars and restaurants to drink, is 100% safe and pure.
Accommodation
Above all there are hotels and apartment accommodation only. There are usually no trouble finding it on the fly, but it is always safer to book in advance. Sign in to it to the database to check the availability and the list of specialists in this field.
Some of these companies would be happy to send you photos of the resort that you like, and any other information you need to apply.
Taxis
They are just as expensive (or cheap) in the peninsula. A trip from the airport to Corralejo, for example, which is about 30km, it costs about 30 euros.
Post Office
In almost every town you can find a post office. Send a letter to a maximum of 20 grams, or a postcard to any country within the EU, it costs 50cents, and anywhere in Spain, 25cents.
You can also buy stamps at the front desk of your hotel or in shops or post offices. The opening hours of post offices are Monday through Saturday from 08:30 am to 14:00 pm and closed on Sundays all day.
